Even More DnD Stoof

Did some concept work for my buddies Campaign for the Binder class where  the character binds legendary spirits to lend them their powers who where so powerful in like that even in death their strength remain here is one of the spirits that did not make the cut.  Aym the Avaricious.

What is not shown is that she is supposed to be standing on a mound of treasures, gold, and magical items, and when the Binder seeks to bind her spirit she appears in this form.  The Binder gains her powers with a price.  Every bound spirit changes the personality of the bindee,  As for Aym, she makes the Binder extremely greedy and penny pinching and must stop if monetary gain is possible lest there be penalties.

The Merc with a Mouth

Big fan of the Deadpool comics and now that a game is going to come out as well as the announcement of a Deadpool movie in pre-production, settled that i had to drawify the schitzo-wisecracking-boss of a antihero.

Some more Dungeons and Dragons

My friends DnD is a total custom reworking of all the rules lore(yeah it is as much work as it sounds) and races to fit his liking.  One of the many races are the Orcean(aka the Orc), who are a warlike(go figure) nomadic people who live on the edge of the known world in the most unforgiving environments.  He styled them after the Mongols and other Eastern barbaric tribes.  Unlike the classic Orc, the Orcean have tusks growing from their cheekbones much along the lines of a WoW Troll.  So here is a quick concept of said Orcean.

I was thinking that since they were nomadic they would use lightweight segmented leathers for durability and mobility, and animal furs and skins to show their wild lifestyle, as well as tightly bound hair as to not get in the way of fighting etc.(contrary to the more wild and free DnD Orc).  I wanted them to seem at home on the frontier but not savage hulking brutes(along the lines of Japan in the Edo period mixed with the Mongolian horde era with a dash of Viking).

Dungeons and Dragons

I have always been a fan of DnD and got the opportunity to play again with a old high school buddy that just happend to got to the same college, so i immediately started to come up with character concepts.  Here is one that didn't(sadly)  make the cut. The reason is that him and I were playing with all  DnD virgins and they all chose really squishy assassin and magic types, so I ended up going with a much more hearty Orc Barbarian instead.

This little guys name is Melbert Rumblewidget Shortwick Alchemical Thaumaturgist Simperboom the 6th.
He is a Gnome Alchemist with a deep passion for alchemy and explosives, even if it is considered the lowest form of gnomish science(in my friends dnd universe).  It is his life's work to show everyone that Alchemy can be and is the greatest science(and art) of all.  Hopefully in a different campaign i can bring this explosive personality to the game table.

Frank Herbert's Dune

Started reading the Dune series again. . .And i gotta say, how freaking awesome the universe is that Frank Herbert created way back in 1965.  Other than the old style of type and English vernacular it really holds up to any other scifi/fantasy novels today.

So while going on a novel reading binge I found some time to doodle the messiah himself. . .Muad'Dib

Done in pencil and subtle color pencil tones.  Looking forward to digitizing this one.

Learning Mudbox

I have taken upon myself to start learning Mudbox because my school is phasing out use of Zbrush to Mudbox because of their deal with Autodesk.  So everyone is going to have to start using Mudbox whether we like it or not.(doesn't mean we can use it on our own rigs though)  So here are a couple of my first ettempts in the Mudbox program.

First I started on a bald wrinkly guy that turned into a Sith type character. . ."Peace is a lie."

Second I did a DnD style Troll character who are scarier, more formidable versions of troll in other mythos(and with way more pointy noses).

These both were a big "meh" for me and I probably will not be going back to theses anytime soon.  This was just me trying to get familiar with the program and its tools.  And I think I have done just that. . . . Alright back to this learning thing.

Bloggity

Started one to post arts and stoof, since it will be a requirement in the future to post school stuff here.  So this is my preemptive creation on my new and shiny art. . . .blog. . . .thing.  It is my hope this will motivate me to do more art and CG stuff instead of me sitting around doing nothing and watching Netflix.  One thing is for certain is that i NEED to start practicing more and this blog(hopefully) will be another incentive to start doing so more often.

I am looking forward to keeping this blog current and full of arts and things.  Because lets be honest.  I am not doing this for anyone else but myself.  But If anyone appreciates what I am doing, all the more power to you(and the  imminent enlargement of of my head).
